Olive AP Academy – Havering

Our alternative provision academy based in Hornchurch supports young people aged between 11 and 16. We offer a broad curriculum to a diverse group of young people who have experienced difficulty in learning in mainstream schools. We help our students develop the confidence, skills and knowledge they need to be successful in their adult lives.

Our headteacher Ray Lawrence leads an experienced team who support our students to reach their full potential. Our executive headteacher is Mark Vickers.

Our academy’s SEND coordinator is Sue Cox; she can be contacted via the academy office.

We update the website regularly with the latest advice about Coronavirus. Please check our news page for copies of all letters sent to parents/ carers.

To help with learning at home, we have provided each student with a plan and resources – academy staff will talk to each student regularly about their work and offer help as needed. The government are also providing lots of information for parents and carers supporting children to learn at home at the moment.  Here is a link to this latest government guidance.

The Department for Education also has a helpline for staff , parents and young people who are seeking advice about COVID-19/ Coronavirus.
T: 0800 046 8687, E: DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk Available: 8am to 6pm (Mon to Fri), 10am to 4pm (Sat & Sun).

The Department for Education have been informed that some parents have received an email stating the following: ‘As schools will be closing, if you’re entitled to free school meals, please send your bank details and we’ll make sure you’re supported’. The Department for Education has confirmed that this is a scam email and is not official. We urge parents and carers that if you receive any emails like this, please do not respond, and delete it immediately.
