A massive thank you to the Savoy Educational Trust for your grant, helping us to equip our training kitchen at our academy, and to upskill our teachers to deliver vocational courses in catering. With their support, 23 KS4 students so far have gained Level 1 and Level 2 BTEC catering qualifications and the rest of our students have been able to learn more about cooking as part of their curriculum.
Within our curriculum, there are so many opportunities for all our students to learn about healthy food - even taking key ingredients from our homegrown vegetable beds - and creating some really tasty meals. This kitchen facility is absolutely crucial, supporting our young people to develop valuable life skills and become more independent.
